The original design of the year 1965, its name comes from the similarity of the model with a lantern or hand lantern (meaning «fanal» in Catalan) with a grip to be able to transport or hang it.

With this design, Xavier Solé wanted to reinterpret the classic incandescent light lamps within limited sizes by integrating two types of table lamps into one.‎

The Absis collection pays tribute to the traditional Catalan vault and to one of the materials used for its construction: the clay from the Vacamorta area in the Empordà region of Girona (Spain).
