Euroluce 2023, light is again the star at Salone
Straddling avant-garde and inspiration, essential sculptures and multifunctional systems: technology, design and lifestyles translate into light, as a design tool at the service of creativity
The Salone del Mobile.Milano 2023 brings with it Euroluce, the biennial event focused on sources of inspiration that look at the design dimension of light. The International Lighting Exhibition this year celebrates its 31st edition at Rho Fiera, spreading across over 29,229 sqm of space divided into 4 darkened pavilions (9-11 and 1-15) for 315 exhibitors, of which 45% from outside Italy, in a new exhibition layout designed by Lombardini22.
After considering visitor flows and the principles of design for all, Euroluce 2023 has adopted a new circular shape, presenting a more fluid itinerary that also leaves room for areas dedicated to cultural events. The main focus is on creating the best experience for visitors, who can stroll through the pavilions to observe the variety and the different adaptations lighting design has to offer, as one of the sectors that has evolved the most in recent years. Among the various products on display, guests will immediately notice a great drive for modularity, compositional freedom and customization, as well as a more holistic approach to design, capable of blurring the boundary between decorative and technical lighting.
Sculptural creations that are pure and essential, geometric, but also colorful, poetic, full of sinuous and enveloping lines: immersive environments come to life at Euroluce to discover the new products and innovations through which brands interpret how people are changing, adopting new behaviors and lifestyles. The exhibition is also the place to discover the visions and inspirations that led designers to use light as a tool at the service of creativity, suggesting new concepts that will change the way we think of light fixtures in the future.
The variety of proposals at Euroluce 2023 ranges from innovations in light fixtures for outdoor, indoor or industrial use to solutions dedicated to events or the hospital sector, from lighting automation systems to light sources and software for light technologies. Research tackles the relationship between light and volume, finishes, sustainable materials, visual comfort, digitization, miniaturization and energy saving, as well as the different configurations of light sources which, with great versatility, adapt to different contexts.
Euroluce 2023 thus confirms its role as a state-of-the-art event also in the field of sustainability and energy saving: low-consumption and high-efficiency LED sources are increasingly popular, while at the production level many brands are thinking about the activation of circular economy principles in manufacturing and distribution, in addition to the use of low-impact, recycled or recyclable raw materials.
