Magazines from the world A dedication to Italian design A dedication to Italian design The May issue of ELLE Decor US pays tribute to the Bel Paese, from a cover title that amounts to a dedication – “Italy Forever” – to a last page that contains a series of stories and articles from Italy to celebrate design with a capital “D” A year after its first special, ELLE Decor US has published a second issue dedicated to Italy, recalling and celebrating its openness and the key role that Made in Italy still plays in the global furnishing and design markets. In the run-up to “supersalone”, the stories in this special May issue are designed to honour a country crammed with inspiration from North to South: a (solved) design mystery in Milan, the Roman loft with its view over the Colosseum renovated by architect duo Alvisi Kirimoto, a seductive mix of modernism and classicism. An aspirational villa on Capri; family-run businesses, the beating heart of Italian design. This issue not only celebrates design but also Italian ability to build little pleasures into everyday lives.
