Along with the natural materials including cotton, leather, wood, bamboo, linen and wool, there is a growing trend of ecological design, one that takes the environment into account in the design processes. Factories of many brands have moved to greener and sustainable production that benefits the environment and humans and they create a durable furniture. As part of the ecological trend, materials are reused alongside the production of textiles from plastic products. Some companies use upholstery fabrics that used to be plastic drinking bottles, for example. In addition, there is a trend of vintage and second hand - a combination of furniture that has been around for decades alongside new and renewed items, so the furniture also has an interesting story. The idea is to spend less. It's even more popular among the younger generation.
Texture - Along with the choice of colors and materials that fit us, the textures of the sofas and armchairs are important. This year we are seeing more and more fabrics, leather and upholstery with deep or rough textures such as wool, woven material, velvet etc. The touch of our sofas and armchairs is a significant motif in creating an atmosphere and a pleasant feeling.
Formality - the lines are clean and modern, an expression of a contemporary and functional lifestyle, devoid of ornaments. However, not all lines are straight and there is a trend of rounded lines in a wavy shape. The soft angles are a leading trend in 2022, a kind of sculptural furniture that mimics nature.”
