Exhibitions The Makers Show: craftspeople, self-producers and makers at “supersalone” Add to bookmarks The special Salone del Mobile.Milano event welcomes in independent makers who create a story, a message and emotions by shaping materials in original ways. The Makers Show is a section of “supersalone,” the special Salone del Mobile.Milano event curated by Stefano Boeri and dedicated to designer-makers from all over the world. Featuring workshops, studios, laboratories and start-ups that bring together design and experimentation, new production techniques and materials research in order to produce their own projects. Their contribution to the overall exhibition will make the diversity of the world of creative living even more exhaustive. The idea is to build up a collective picture of the status quo of independent design and the direction it’s taking. A fluid and crosscutting exhibition, The Makers Show will be spread over the four “supersalone” pavilions and will encompass different types of products – from furniture to furnishing accessories – bringing together objects that encapsulate new economic, social, productive and relational values born of the intersection of craftsmanship and digital progress, local skills and global needs, specialist professions and collective narratives. “supersalone” will thus become an incubator of new stories, providing an opportunity to discover original products and take stock of emerging phenomena, to follow the evolution of the independent design market and make direct contact with its leading lights. A chance to pause and reflect on the many aspects touched by design, as well as to spark a dialogue and ignite one’s curiosity about experimental, innovative and multidisciplinary approaches. 4 August 2021 Share
