Exhibitions In the run-up to the Salone: a selection of cabinets and containers Text by Laura Barsottini Add to bookmarks Clei, Homeoffice, photo courtesy A foray into proposals of the 2022 collections of cabinets and storage furniture. For the home and much else Cabinets, containers and accessorized furnishings suitable not just for the bedroom but also the living room or entryway, distance working spaces or the office, or modular systems for creating multipurpose areas. As the long-awaited event approaches with the new proposals from designers for domestic, work or contract use at the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2023, here is a selection of proposals from the companies for 2022. Not only cabinets and containers, but retractable workstations, reinterpretations of the sideboards and buffets of ancient memory, display cases, sliding door systems and fixed panels, flexible components that ensure soundproofing, ending up with the most innovative and surprising bookcases concealed in unsuspected guises, solutions that are always extremely versatile. The goal is aesthetics, of course, but above all comfort. The 2022 proposals are made from different materials such as wood, clear or frosted glass and mirrors, often combined with each other in forms suited to different styles of homes and offices, from the most contemporary and minimalist, to the most Pop. The only musts: the functionality and simplicity of the lines.
