Contributors Adelina Greca Speaker Add to bookmarks Adelina Greca has graduated from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. She has followed post-graduate studies in the Department of Urban Planning, the Urban Design Program at the same university. Adelina has an extensive experience in planning and public sector. She worked as an architect and urban planner at the Municipality of Tirana from 2003 until 2011. She has worked in a number of managing and executive positions during her tenure at the Municipality of Tirana. Throughout these years Adelina has been part of multiple important planning and architecture projects for the municipality, leading several work-groups in planning and urban development projects. From 2011 and until late 2013, Adelina has worked as a freelancer/ practicing architect and has lectured at EPOKA University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture. Since late 2013 Albanian Government appointed Ms. Greca General Director of the National Territorial Planning Agency. The NTPA serves as the central planning authority leading horizontal coordination for national and regional planning. Furthermore the Agency assists Local Government Units to draft and implement local development planning documents inline with the national spatial development vision. The Agency coordinates the planning processes and gives preliminary approval (clearance) to all national, regional and local planning instruments, manages the GIS System of Spatial Planning Data and also, assists the line Ministry with sectorial legislation upgrading. As part of her duties in NTPA, Ms. Greca has leaded the teams that worked on three national spatial planning documents – National Spatial Plan, Albania 2030; Integrated Intersectorial Plan for Coastal Reagion; Integrated Intersectorial Plan for Tirana-Durres Economic Region – all three approved by the National Territorial Council in June 2016. Ms. Greca is currently leading the team of local planning coordinators supporting and supervising the process of drafting 61 spatial development local plans for 61 new municipalities in Albania. During 2014 - 2015, Ms. Greca has led the organization of 10 international architecture and urban design competitions through Atelier Albania platform. Some of the winning schemes of those competitions are on their way to being implemented, while others are waiting for implementation funds. From July 2018 NTPA is asked to work on 100 Villages Program, a program of the Albanian Government that aims at rural development based on touristic potentials. Ms. Greca, as part of her role as director general of NTPA established the instrument of 100 Villages Academy which worked from August 2018 till February 2019 on drafting development models for the 100 villages. NTPA is now working together with four ministries and Albanian Development Fund on drafting the investment program for 100 villages, based on the work of the Academy. Share
