He was impressed by the sheer number of young designers from all over the world who had the opportunity to show their work at this widely celebrated fair. Since then he has visited the SaloneSatellite every year, partly to seek out up-and-coming German designers, to write about them, such as, for example, Sebastian Herkner from Offenbach, whom Schmitt discovered in 2009 and who is now world renowned. Peter-Philipp Schmitt was born in 1967 and lives and works in Frankfurt. In November he will celebrate his 25th anniversary as editor-in-chief of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.). Shortly after starting out in this field, he began writing about interiors and design, initially mainly in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung. Since 2013, he has also been on the editorial team of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Magazin, which is published 18 times a year as a supplement to the Saturday or Sunday newspaper. The supplement covers not only lifestyle with a focus on fashion and design, it also deals with a wide spectrum of other contemporary issues, and F.A.Z. correspondents from all over the world are regular contributors Share Articles by Peter-Philipp Schmitt Stories Marva Griffin in conversation with Peter-Philipp Schmitt Peter-Philipp Schmitt
