Stilnovo was founded in Milan in 1946 by the ingenious Bruno Gatta, as Italy began to face the multiple challenges of post-war reconstruction. Ever since those years of rebuilding and the economic boom, it has proved to be both a successful business and a landmark in the design world, thanks to the creation of memorable lamps by masters of Italian design, from the Castiglioni brothers to Joe Colombo, Gae Aulenti to Ettore Sottsass, including De Pas-D’Urbino-Lomazzi, Danilo and Corrado Aroldi and Macchi Cassia, to name but a few. After decades of success, confirmed by the many lamps displayed in the world's leading design museums, Stilnovo ceased trading in the late 80s, and returned more than 30 years later, in 2019, thanks to the acquisition of Linea Light Group: a new opportunity to continue a glorious story that began over 70 years ago through the meticulous reinterpretation of the great lamps of the past and a growing collaboration with contemporary and emerging designers. The result is a superb quality range of products that combine design history and advanced technological lighting solutions, creating new value.
