In Axolight’s vision, the lamp body represents the physical extension of the design, while the light the ‘ultra-physical’ one. Never before has this concept been so centered as in Manifesto. When the light is off, the lamp manifests itself as a sculpture affixed to the wall. When the light is on, it is surrounded by a luminous halo that redraws its boundaries and enhances its emotional impact. With Manifesto (2022), Cut (2019) and U-Light (2017), Axolight and Timo Ripatti realize their third common project and establish one of the most important partnerships in the world of contemporary design light. In previous projects for Axolight, Timo Ripatti created objects with three-dimensional shapes. Manifesto, on the other hand, is a work that appears as a bas-relief emerging from the wall, in which all the constituting elements are related to each other according to the proportions of the golden section.
