From 26 July to 11 August on the occasion of the Olympic Games From 26 July to 11 August, Casa Italia Paris 2024 will be hosting the team of athletes, coaches and guests on the occasion of the 33rd Olympic Games. CONI has chosen a place symbolic of the Olympics. The athletes’ home is located in Le Pré Catelan, a Napoleon III-style building immersed in the city’s largest park, the Bois de Boulogne, a stone’s throw from the Champs Élysées. The building was inaugurated in 1856. Then, on the evening of 23 June 1894, a dinner was held here to celebrate the birth of the Olympic Games of the modern era founded by Baron Pierre de Coubertin. CONI collaborated with architecture studio IT'S for the set design and Atelier Bianca E. Patroni Griffi for the interior design. At the heart of the Casa Italia Paris 2024 project is the Ensemble concept, which from 2016 to the present has transformed the athletes’ home from a Hospitality House to an internationally recognized brand capable of recounting the story of Italian culture through assets rich in design, art and architecture. Ensemble is a term that also evokes music and fashion, two pillars of the modern French and Italian cultural identity. The architectural project has therefore transformed Le Pré Catelan into a veritable scenic and emotional journey, with a deep concern for sustainability. The predominant use of natural and recycled fabrics, by reducing the overall weight of the transport of the materials of the decor, has made it possible to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
