Discovering the FLA Plus Sustainable Materials Library
“Material of the Month” is a cycles of studies that each month explores a material with an innovative DNA and a deep ecological footprint
The universe of materials applied to design and architecture is constantly changing. Technology is an ally in shaping solutions to reduce the environmental impact while improving the durability of products. Hence the new-generation materials boost performance, while maintaining an important ecological dimension to suit the needs of increasingly demanding and aware professionals and consumers.
In this direction, the FLA Plus Sustainable Materials Library is a valuable resource. It is a database containing information about materials suitable for use in the wood-furniture sector, developed in collaboration with Materially. The rich database is a resource in the service of member companies. It enables them to filter content based on sustainability criteria and characteristics, including the relevant certifications.
In the “Material of the Month” section of our LinkedIn account, we turn the spotlight on the most innovative materials together with visual and textual insights to assist in making known innovations and multiple applications. As the name suggests, each month “Material of the Month” explores one sustainable material: its characteristics, qualities and aesthetic and functional properties. Because the success of a design project, among much else, rests partly on the choice of material.
