Its harmonious, dynamic and perfectly symmetric shape is reminiscent of a cotton reel, a top that spins on its axis or a vase thrown on a potter's wheel. A captivating contemporary sculpture when it is still, Spun becomes a comfortable, fun seat when it moves, a seat on which we can experience new sensations, rediscover the pleasure of rocking, turn 360°, and play with the world around us. When Thomas Heatherwick started his study on geometric shapes and their possible rotation, the question arose at Magis: Can a seat be made from this? To find an answer, it was necessary to disassemble the stereotypes of a chair - seat, back and legs - and unite them into a single profile. The result: a sculptural object and a comfortable chair at the same time. Eleven years after its launch, this playful armchair has become a classic in our portfolio as well as in the contemporary design industry. Designed by Thomas Heatherwick Born of Thomas Heatherwick's creative flair and Magis' research, this unconventional seat has already won one of the design world's supreme accolades, the 2014 ADI Compasso d’Oro award. Product Overview Product Details Product description Rotating chair in rotational moulded polyethylene, available in 4 colours as well as in a bicolour version. Spun is suitable also for outdoor use.
