Magis_Spun

Spun is not just a new seat, a new concept in seating and sitting. Its harmonious, dynamic and perfectly symmetric shape is reminiscent of a cotton reel, a top that spins on its axis or a vase thrown on a potter's wheel. A captivating contemporary sculpture when it is still, Spun becomes a comfortable, fun seat when it moves, a seat on which we can experience new sensations, rediscover the pleasure of rocking, turn 360°, and play with the world around us.

When Thomas Heatherwick started his study on geometric shapes and their possible rotation, the question arose at Magis: Can a seat be made from this? To find an answer, it was necessary to disassemble the stereotypes of a chair - seat, back and legs - and unite them into a single profile. The result: a sculptural object and a comfortable chair at the same time. Eleven years after its launch, this playful armchair has become a classic in our portfolio as well as in the contemporary design industry.
