M/U Oru Collection

Oru Scuro ORU Collection, Studio Salaris + Sans Nom

In Sardinian the term Oru means edge, margin, border. The collection reinterprets the traditional rug composed by a border that frames the field, reducing the elements at its minimum.

Designed by
Studio Salaris + Sans Nom
"For the Oru collection, the process was one of simplification. We identified the elements of recognition of the traditional rug and we reduced them up to the archetype."

The collection is also defined by colour, a fundamental aspect of its nature. The chromatic component is expressed on two levels: by distance, with the color blocking of the borders and the contrasting field and up close, with an unprecedented mélange of colours perceived in the weave inside the carpet.

"This is an attempt to synthesise the concept of a carpet that wants to be, visually as well as conceptually, a passe-partout proposal, without a defined temporal collocation or associated with a particular style."
