The series gave rise to a book, Design Emergency: Building a Better Future, published by Phaidon on May. Their talk at SaloneSatellite, There Will Always Be a Design Emergency, will discuss the story behind the project and include a selection of past interviews as concrete examples of how designers are tackling complex challenges in every field, in a bid to make our lives safer, healthier, happier, more productive and inclusive. Paola Antonelli Paola Antonelli is Senior Curator of Architecture & Design at The Museum of Modern Art, as well as MoMA’s founding Director of Research & Development. Her work investigates design’s impact on everyday experience, often including overlooked objects and practices, and combining design, architecture, art, science, and technology. Among her most recent exhibitions are the XXII Triennale di Milano Broken Nature and MoMA’s Material Ecology, on the groundbreaking work of architect Neri Oxman.
