Helene binet

Binet is an internationally renowned Swiss-French photographer based in London. She studied photography at the European Design Institute in Rome, where she spent most of her formative years. Over more than 35 years, Binet has immortalized both contemporary and historical architecture. A fervent supporter of analogue photography, she works exclusively with film.

Her work has been showcased in exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including a solo exhibition at London’s Royal Academy of Arts in 2021 and one at Shanghai’s Power Station of Art in 2019. In 2007, she was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and in 2015 she received the Julius Shulman Institute’s Excellence in Photography Award. She was also awarded the Ada Louise Huxtable Prize in 2019, which is awarded to women who have made significant contributions to the field of architecture, and is one of the Royal Photographic Society’s Hundred Heroines.
