Replay the Press Conference
The press conference presenting the 61st edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano is open to the entire design community. It will be streamed live on this page on 15th February, from 11.00 am onwards. Prior registration is required. For those in different time zones and those unable to connect, please bear in mind that another streaming is scheduled for 5.00 pm CET.
Chaired by Linus and opened by the Mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, the conference will herald a host of new things, introduced by Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano and the protagonists of the upcoming edition, and of the biennial lighting exhibition Euroluce in particular, which will be debuting a completely new exhibition format and an original, packed cultural programme.
Not just confirmation that the event will take place in April, packed with brands that will be expressing themselves with full creative freedom, the conference will also discuss all the “worlds” that await us – the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Workplace3.0, S.Project, Euroluce, and SaloneSatellite – each with their own particularities and evolutions.
For the first time ever, the stands will all be set out on one single, user-friendly level (which means that there will be no exhibitors in the upper fairground pavilions); the Euroluce spaces will feature new cultural paths and experiential spaces, with themed exhibitions, a bookshop and site-specific installations; the palimpsest of conferences will be back, and, for the first time, the exhibiting brands will be holding workshops, making the Salone a place and opportunity for growth, development and learning. A great many leading figures and curators will take their turn on the stage – including Lombardini22, Formafantasma, Beppe Finessi and Hélène Binet, one of the most important contemporary photographers, to whom the Salone is dedicating an exhibition.
There will be an introduction to our creative partnership with the studio Leftloft and Gio Pastori, a highly-renowned illustrator and collagist on the Milan Millennial arts scene, who have devised the brightly-coloured, geometric, ultra-Pop communication campaign for this edition of the trade fair.
The digital Salone del Mobile platform will become even busier in the days before, during and after the event, guaranteeing up-to-the-minute information. The different touch points – website, newsletter, app, push and social networks - will serve to galvanise the international Salone community with new digital editorial and service projects.
Our partnership with the Teatro alla Scala Foundation has been renewed, and the Welcome Project will again be running, with welcome points set up at focal points around the city.
Lastly, FederlegnoArredo President Claudio Feltrin will discuss the efforts and results of the wood-furnishing sector as a whole and the ongoing research and innovation being undertaken by our companies in terms of product durability, use of secondary raw materials, energy saving and the training of human resources.
The conference will unveil a Salone built on imagination and participation, an open, inclusive, dynamic, cultural, youthful and independent event that sets the pace of design and anticipates trends.
We’ll be expecting you, here on these screens.
Stay tuned!
