TRAPEZOIDAL SHAPE AND ORIENTAL INSPIRATION

Piero Lissoni

"Curry" is a stand-alone piece, a sort of bench, a space-occupying and space-interfering object. I imagined it with children jumping on it, or for lively evenings, without children. In this case it's a plantation oak, with a good finish. I was interested in capturing the materiality of these objects between India and China, and here we are".
Piero Lissoni, Curry

The new Curry sofa with reduced depth, resulting from the transformation of the Curry daybed presented in 2018, is ideal in a lobby, in a waiting area or to play with several models placed next to each other to create independent islands for relaxation. Featuring a geometric matrix, with a trapezoidal shape, it draws inspiration from the East: the structure in solid black stained ash becomes the frame for the backrest in black dyed woven straw – a perfect combination of design and craftsmanship that reveals the essence of the new Porro 2020 creations.

Porro_Curry — **Curry**, detail of the seat

Curry sofa, suitable for large spaces, has a solid wood structure and intentionally exaggerated proportions. Its pleasantly distorted shape creates an asymmetrical seat that paves the way to new forms of relaxation. Curry has a sculptural silhouette with a strong graphic impact and features a precious design on the back and on the armrests made of black stained solid ash and woven straw stretched on the structure. It is an industrial piece of furniture with an artisan flavor that gives voice to the various creative languages of our time. The sofa is completed by a seat cushion with sown stitching and with variable density for greater comfort. The back is softened by two pairs of goose down cushions. The cover, available in fabric or leather, is fully removable, and finished with visible seams embellished by a hem in the same material and color.
